Webinar – Efforts rewarded: insights from farmers monitoring their soil health
Join us on the 4th December at 7:30pm AEST to learn from two farmers who are monitoring their soil health.
Bert Matthews is a grazier from Hay in NSW. Back in 1994 the Soil Conservation Service began collecting annual data for the Range Assessment Program on his property Bedarbidgal, Bert has followed this up with a range of ongoing field assessments. Bedarbidgal was recently part of a 3 year program with Soils for Life, you can read the case study here
Campbell Mercer from Manna Hill Estate is a biodynamic olive grower who has been tracking his soil health for several years using simple soil tests and a microbiometer. More on Manna Hill Estate here.
Both farmers will share some of their lessons from monitoring soil health, what they’ve learned, why they do it and how they use the information. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
